Information and
Respite Coordinators assist Carers and their advocates to find respite
in Aged Care facilities and overnight respite cottages.
The Commonwealth
government expects that all people who use respite in an Aged Care
facility (except DVA Gold Card holders) will pay a daily care fee.
Carers of younger
people with disabilities may access respite in disability specific
respite facilities. Carers are generally expected to pay a daily fee.
If a Carer would be
financially disadvantaged by payment of the daily fee, the Carer Support
& Respite Centre may contribute to the payment of all or part of the
daily fee.
