Carers can access respite in emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1800 059 059. 

The Carer Support & Respite Centre is generally able to provide up to 24 hours emergency in-home respite to assist the Carer to resolve the emergency.  Care workers are engaged through approved service provider agencies.  Care workers have undergone Police checks and have completed appropriate training.  Through their employing agencies they carry appropriate insurance.

Information and Respite Coordinators will work with the Carer to assist them to link to appropriate services beyond the immediate emergency.
