It’s important to have a break from your caring role. The person you care for can also have a break and this break is usually referred to as Respite. We specialise in short term, occasional and emergency respite.
Your reasons for requiring respite can be quite varied and our team can help you determine which option meets your needs. Here is an explanation of the services we offer:
Emergency Respite
This covers unforseen Carer emergencies. For example we could arrange assistance for the person you care for should you have a medical emergency, illness or family crisis. If your situation is an emergency, Freecall 1800 052 222 and we can respond at any time.
Short Term Respite
Short term respite may be required if you have something you need to plan ahead for, such as surgery for yourself or a short trip away. If you are waiting for an ongoing respite service to commence with another agency, we can often fill the waiting gap, or a portion of it, with short term respite. This can be out-of-home care or in-home care, depending on your situation.
Occasional Respite
This can provide Carers with a break from time to time. A special appointment or family engagement may mean you require a care worker to assist the person you care for. You may also feel the need for a little time out or are planning to attend a Carer Support event. Occasional respite also provides opportunities to have someone take the person you care for to appointments or activities if you are unable to do so.
